Diving
Some important information:
The marine biology is incredible in Saltstraumen and as we know, humans are the greatest threat to the survival of all species in the sea.
Saltstraumen divecenter has a "no-touch" policy - always and a "no-hunt" policy when diving in the main stream.
This gives the next diver the same opportunities and great experience as you when diving here....
We leave only bubbles and take only pictures
BUT: if you want to hunt, we can guarantee many fantastic dive sites nearby that are perfect for hunting.
Safety:
Diving in the worlds strongest tidal current or mael stream might seem extreme for many, but done under controlled circumstances and with all the safety precautions taken care of, this is safe and will give you an unforgettable experience for life.
Our main priority is to provide quality and safety for all our visitors.
We all know that preparation is the most important aspect when diving as well as being in good shape, both physically and mentally. The equipment has to be in 100% tip top shape and the diving conditions good.
We plan the dive thoroughly and we follow the plan.
In Saltstraumen, the latter is particularly important due to the tidal current table: the drop-in has to be at exact timing.
Check-out dive:
Buoyancy control is always important and in Saltstraumen it is imperative. Therefore it is mandatory with a check-out dive - but do not worry; this will be done in beautiful surroundings and is no waste of time - on the contrary.
And when all of the above is taken care of: Enjoy!
When you are not diving:
In Saltstraumen and Bodø you can choose between many fantastic diving sites, but since you (unfortunately) cannot spend the whole day below surface, you might want some more adventures? - Or maybe you are travelling with a non-diver?
Our partner, Saltstraumen Adventure is happy to be at your service:
